Blower Swap

Just have a few questions you folks may be able to help me with. My 682 has died... (still in mourning) but I've rebounded a bit and purchased a 1650. :beerchug:My questions are this.. my blower from the 682 blew up the gearbox, can I use the rear gearbox for the tiller to replace it? Secondly, can I use the QA 42A blower on my 1650. If so, can the deck hydraulic lift, lift it and how the heck do I hook it up?:bash2:

No you cannot use the tiller gearbox. Ratio's are different.

Yes, the thrower will fit on the 1650. It lifts the same way as on the 682......

Are the gears available to swap out? My 682 had an "arm-strong" lever on the side of it and this 1650 is hydraulic.

No. Honestly, I was working on finding a replacement gear. I think I found one, but I did so just as winter was over. Put off the trial project in favor of getting tractors ready for garden and mower duty. I'll be working on it again later. Only choice for gears at this point is used.

Yes, a 1650 is hydraulic lift. They all were. It has a "lever" on the side by the footrest in about the same location as the lift lever on your 682. It has one, or maybe two, holes in it...... that's where the lift rod attaches. Unless someone removed it.... :bigthink:

Definitely M.I.A. Guess 1st project is to look at swapping the lift rod over from the 682. Fortunately I'm all set to cut grass. Now I've got to start trying to get this blower set up. WAY too much snow to shovel up here during the winter. I'd like to be ready for it this year. Internet search hear we go.
Thanks for the assist.
