Soil conditions and the condition of the tractor plays a big part when deciding what size plow to use. Best plow for a stock Original that is set up the right way is a 8 inch plow. An Original can pull a 10 inch plow in some soils. It can be hard on the clutch and belt with the 10 inch plow. I used a 10 inch plow on my 70. There were places I had to use 1st gear. My 70 has the faster 2nd gear.

The first Cub Cadet I plowed with was a 122. Dad had a 10 inch Brinly plow we used on it. He still has that plow. The 122 did a good job plowing. The 122 had 8.50 ags filled with fluid and 50 pounds of wheel weights on it.

My original has a replacement 8 hp on it but I have some tough soil so I will
proably go with the 8 inch for my orginal. I will probly get a 10 inch for my 122
instead.
