snow blower pulleys

I have a 682 with a front mounted single stage snowblower.Has anyone played with pulley diameters on these single stage blowers to increase blower distance? What is the correct stock diameter for the bottom pulley? If I put a smaller diameter bottom pulley and turn the auger faster, would that work?

Yes.
stock pulley is 4-1/2"
Browing makes a 4-1/4"
Or you can go 1 tooth more on the drive sprocket, on the stub shaft, that drives the auger.
This is the way to go if your sprocket is worn and needs replacement.
Might do well to do a search here under implements/ snowblowers as this is been discussed several times
