New To Me 1872
I drove about 3 hours today and pickup-ed a pretty nice 1872. I bought for parts but it is too nice for that even my wife said so. :biggrin2: It runs great, but puffs a little blue smoke at start up. It does not have oil smell when it is running. Has 940 hours on a working meter. The PO spent 900.00 on it last year at the dealer getting all the leaks fixed. The steering valve was rebuilt at that time. It steers great. I am very satisfied with it and I think I got it at a descent price.
I have not purchased a book yet so I would appreatite it if someone could look it up and tell me what year it is. I think it is a early on just because the steering wheel looks different than my 1572 and it is a 1987 model I think. The numbers are as follows: MFG DATE C228G, Model Number is 143720100 and the serial number is 773553.
I am in the process of downloading the pictures, so they will be along in few.
