582 not so quick fix up

Fixing up a 582 for the older guy down the road from me. He is sort of a junk tractor collector. Only one that runs is this 582. He has a 44c for a deck and he has a snow plow for it but he didn't have a mule or the lift carriage for the deck. Shrewcub donated the mule and carriage, Big Thanks Buddy. Clutch and brake need some adjustment. Has a nice mouse nest on the top of the engine. Gotta give a good clean up, change the fluids all the standard stuff and get the deck on it for the guy. He's 83 and has been cutting his grass with an electric weed eater. Big thanks to Cub123 for helping me get it all loaded up yesterday after he stopped by to pick up some belt covers for his O deck.

Looks to be well kept Sam, be prepared to see a few other issues with the clutch, though...

Looks like a nice early built CCC 582. Good job Sam on helping the man repair his tractor.:beerchug:

Clue me in Lew. I'm not looking to get into a serious rebuild.

Sam , I think what Lew is talking about is that just about all Cubs with a clutch usually need to be taken apart and parts replaced or something fixed.

Maybe you will get lucky !!!

That's awesome, Sam! When you're done, he'll be able to enjoy his 582!

Not a bad looking 582 Sam! You don't see the yellow/white ones very often.

You will have it in tip top shape in no time!

Well the disk has seen better days but I think it will last the summer. I showed the owner so he knows it's tired.

When I'm 83 I want Nick to fix my Cubs also. :biggrin2:
