Where can I get a decent cart?
I have little hope that I will find a #4 cart like the one I grew up using. You don't see a lot of Cub Cadets here in California much less implements and carts. Can you guys suggest a new cart that is good. I found this one at Tractor Supply: http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/stor...teel-dump-cart Is it any good?

I have one that looks identical to that that I'm pretty sure came from tractor supply.
Those specs state 1200lbs cap. which I know mine could not handle. Loader her with topsoil and bent the axle, now the tires rub the box. Its still kickin, been meaning to beef it up a little. My only complaint is the slide in gate, it bends alot under the weight of the load |
I hear you about the TSC wagon. I worry about anything made new nowadys - it is hard to find quality and specs that aren't exaggerated.
I grew up with a CC108 that pulled a red trailer made by Ohio Steel Fabricators. I read on this or another forum that Ohio Steel Fabricators made the #4 trailer for CC and what my dad bought was the same trailier except painted red. It was very sturdy and hauled it's fair share of dirt and firewood. It had a slide-in tailgate that was well made. What are my choices? Is TSC the only option? |
AFAIC, Agri-Fab makes about the best stuff out there now. Ohio steel is good too, and so is Brinly, but I think Agri-Fab is the best now. Rural King sells them, I don't think there are any of those in Cali. The site has a dealer locator, but you can order them online and take home delivery. Amazon is probably the best, but may find them cheaper. Pick the model you are interested in and do a search. I believe Sears sells them too.
Check them out: http://www.agri-fab.com/Products/Carts.aspx |
Thanks!
The Agr-Faq carts looks a lot lik ethe TSC cart. Have you every seen them side-by-side? Is there a noticable difference in quality? I really wish I could find an old Ohio Steel cart or IH #4. |
Watch E-Bay. Might get a hold of Patton. If he doesn't have any, he might be able to find you one. Shipping would be the killer though. :bigthink: Cali is not a cub-friendly place it seems.

Agri fab carts are tough and take quite the beating. Just noticed that Rural King name. A friend of mine called me today from a town near by and said they were opening one, never heard of them although it's right next to TSC so I don't know, competition I guess.
