Looks like a lot of good lumber there. A lot of folks go for the old, and weathered wood to make nice cabinets and such,.... usually brings good money!

We had a barn for sale around here recently. Guy bought it, moved it a mile and half (literally) down the road, and set it up for a restaurant and bar. However, I don't think this is feasible for everyone out there :biggrin2:

not sure how long I would stand next to it ,but how else are you going to decorate your local Applebees restaurant and such :biggrin2::beer2:

Here's another way to move a barn, people power :beerchug:

At the end when the people come out of the barn, it looks like a clown car

The market for used (reclaimed) old growth wood beams & planks is huge in many areas and they bring BIG money. I have seen figures of around $10/board foot.

Those siding boards are worth a mint right now...

My cousin actually DID buy a barn, tear it down, move it, and put most of it back up. If you have the time and resources its actually a decent way to go.

I'm much more the type of guy to call the 800 number and have a steel building sitting there a few days later. :)

There is a fellow up the road from here who almost always has 2 or 3 disassembled barns stored in a huge pole barn. Not sure how many he sells but he gets pretty good money for them.

People pay CRAZY amounts of money around here for siding boards... Go Figure!
