782 help please.
So I put the deck on to try mowing for the first time since I bought it. Before I began I checked the oil and it was at the top of the hash marks. After twenty minutes or so of mowing. I was going straight up a small hill, towards the top I heard a puff and then it had a lot of smoke. When I opened the hood I see that I have oil dripping from the breather. When I check the oil now it is a little high. Could the fuel pump be leaking into the crank case? It is a series 2 kt17. Thanks for any help.

Were you on the hill when you checked the oil, or was the tractor level?
|
Yes it could. If you have'nt yet turn your fuel off on the bottom of the tank and then see if the oil smells like gas. you may need a pump and carb rebuild.

Smell the oil and report back. I would be a slice of pizza your fuel pump took a dump on you. :beerchug:

It was back on level ground.

But how do you "hear a puff"? :bigthink: |

If you have oil dripping from air breather. Breather valve in the valve tappet is shot. remove and replace. Oil will quit coming up breather tube.
Brian Oh by the way I have 15 of them and I never had a fuel pump leak gas into the crankcase. |
