Problem with GTX2000
 

Hello I am a new member and looking forward for many chats. This is my second cub cadet a 2014 gtx 2000 I got it delivered to find two scratches on the hood, deck not alighned, steering wheel way off center and left front toe adjustment way out, the belt to run the deck twisted up. I fixed all of that I am a licensed technician for 18 years so not a Brg deal. The main problem I am having is on slight inclines or slight bumps the driveshaft rubs the steering shaft, the driveshaft is already scored. The clearance between the two shafts are very tight with slight frame twist they rub. The dealer where I bought said they are ordering a new steering shaft, and driveshaft and are going to fix it the tractor only has 4 hours on it. I bought this one do to my 2010 sltx 1050 burnt to the ground with less then a 150 hours on it and I wash and dried it after every cut. Has anyone else had a problem with the shafts rubbing?

I have the GT2000 and have no problems with it. It sounds like your dealer did a poor job preparing it for sale.

I checked my tractor, and there is at least 3/8" between steering shaft and the drive shaft. Neither have any evidence of rubbing each other. Hope dealer resolves this matter for you. I have had my tractor for about a year, and I am impressed the more I use it.

Thank you for the replies. The dealer is concerned about the problems and said they are going to take care of the shaft problem. I think something must of happened to this tractor before I got it in shipping or it was put together poor at factory. I not sure if I should trade it in on another gtx 2000 as I like the feel and comfort of it or let them fix it and hope that is all of the problems. I will let you guys know what happens.

I personally would request they replace it with another model. I can tell you from my experience with this model it is an amazing tractor. I had an 1863, and the only thing I liked about it over the GT2000 is the hydraulic lift.

Hello well the dealer called me today, they are picking the tractor up today and delivering a new gtx 2000 to me on Thursday . The dealer was very helpful. Can't Wait till new tractor comes I hope this one is as good as your guys 2000 series are.
