1650 Hydraulics Release?
 

Is there a way to release the Hydraulic Drive on a 1650 Quietline so it will freewheel?

There should be a release lever on the right side of the tunnel cover. If not you may have automatic release valves.

As a note, they don't roll very easy. Even with the automatic release valves.

allot of times the flap is broken off, then you need to remove the cover and operate them by hand

The only way to get a hydro tractor to free-wheel is to put it on a trailer. :biggrin2:

Remove the cover and take a look at them. As others have said, if there is a lever on the right side of the tunnel cover, there should be a flap under it that will press down on the valves to release them when the lever is turned.

The automatic valves are higher/longer than the manual valves meaning they have a lot more "meat" on them where a wrench would fit to unscrew 'em from the pump and stick up higher.

Someone may have swapped them out in the past so If you don't have the lever on the cover, the rig most likely was built w/auto valves. If someone replaced them w/manual valves, that may be your problem.

For what it's worth, coil went out on my 1450 last week in the middle of mowing and I tried to "tow" it back into the garage with my 2072. I could not get the rear wheels to turn freely, at all actually, it started dragging through the grass. I got the auto release valves. Didn't think dragging it like that would be good so I let it sit there until the new coil arrived. Not sure if that is normal behavior, maybe I chickened out too quickly, but these things are not easy to move.

I know I have pushed it in the past and had the wheels roll it just pushed hard. SO I think it has the auto release valves. And it does not have a lever on the tunnel.
