Got a question...will it it?
 

Tomorrow, I'm off to pick up a couple new toys, and drop some off as well. I'll be sure to post pics of the transaction, but before I go, I have a question for those of you that have hauled some large loads in your trucks. I've got a 2001 Silverado standard bed and want to know; will a 147 fit I try to put it in the front of the bed, sideways?

Think of it this way; I want to put it where a toolbox might go, right behind the cab because I have another machine I'm going to be loading behind it. Specs (and a ruler) says the truck bed is 63" wide, while Tractor Data says a 147 is 64 inches. Math says no, but I've found math can be deceiving. So what do y'all think; will it fit? :bigthink:

That won't bother me. So it will "fit", but it'll need a good strap down so it doesn't bounce around too much?

and the wheel wells. but they will fit thisaway..heheheheh

I think the only way you could get it in there is if you can lower it in straight down, i dont think theres enough room to try to turn it sideways once its in the bed because the tractor will be longer corner to corner.

how would he get it out when he gets home?:bigthink:

you could always remove the tires...

Thats not my problem, i was just pointing out that the tractor is longer corner to corner so turning it in the bed might be a challange.

Do to have a Bedliner? Pull it out, will get you an inch or two. I think Lew is on to something, take your cordless impact and remove the rear tires when it's in the bed, it should slide around on the plastic Bedliner we easy enough.

I agree, there won't be enough room to turn it once it's in the bed. Between my friend and I, I hope we can manhandle the thing in somehow. :bigthink:

Hey now, I'm worried about getting it home. Once it's home, it can sit in my truck for a week for all I care :biggrin2:

Now THIS idea, I like. Ain't it funny how the simplest solution is always the best. Removes weight, removes length, should be a winner!
