Serial Number Confusion
I just purchased a IHCC 1450 and the serial number seems to be missing a digit.
The number reads: 2050660 U 63755 there should be six numerals after the "U" not five (unless this 1450 was built in August 1963). The serial number plate is very clear and undamaged so I know I'm reading it correctly. There is a place holder at the end of the number that looks a little like an asterisk. Can someone explain? |
Pictures would help

The serial number range for the 1450 is: 530001 to 664996

O.K. Here are some photos of the tag.

Very interesting, looks like a misteakĀ”

Looks like the last digit is improper or missing.
|
The last digit can only be from 0 to 9 so unless its right at the break off for monthly production its not really needed.
|
So then I can assume its a 1978???

That's odd, I never have seen a messed up serial number plate! Definitely one of a kind!
