Info on my 682
I picked up this 682 a week ago and started looking at it and need some info on it. My question is whether its IH built, CCC built or a transition tractor from IH to CCC when CCC bought IH. The problem is it has red front and rear axles, cast transmission, IH badge in between headlights & IH maintenance minder that works and has original kohler kt17 series 1 engine that runs great with no smoke. That leads me to believe its IH built but it has just cub cadet labeled on the dash, it has a plain black steering center cap that doesnt say IH and the serial tag is cub cadet not International Harvester. It is the original tag. The serial # is 709676. I think its a transition tractor but wanted some other opinions. The engine was built in 1982. I looked up #'s on engine. I will get pics up in a bit of tractor.

If it has a tag like this, it's IH:
Attachment 55118 If not, then it's CCC. Now, if it has a cast rear, then yes, it's an early CCC. That's basically the difference in machines. A machine with a cast rear and no IH badging I would consider a "transition" tractor. |

Thats what I got, a cast IH rear and no IH tag. Cool a transition tractor. Any idea on year? 1982?

Very cool that you now have a 482, 582, 682, 782, and a 982 all red. If only Cub had a Red 882.

Thanks Sam Mac! I need to find a 1282 and a 782d to finish out my red cub collection. I wish there was an 882 in red that cub built but oh well right lol. I have to put a motor in the 482 and I found a kohler m16 to put in it. Thats my winter project.:beerchug:

Any chassis serial number 700001 and higher is CCC/MTD built.
