Spray/brush on bed liner; opinions?

I'm looking at doing a little project/"mod" on my 1864 and possibly 2284 but wanted to get some opinions first. I'm looking at using some spray/brush on bed liner. What I want to do is cover the foot rests in the material, I think it'd look good and I like the idea of having the whole area protected rather than the strip the stock foot pads cover. Seeing as how I've never used the product before, I figured I'd see what you guys thought.

-Have any of you guys used any aftermarket liner from a can?
-Which is better: spray on or brush on (I'd guess brush on but I'm not sure)?
-Did you have much success if you did?
-What was required for prep?

If I end up doing this, I'll be sure to post pics. Thanks guys! :beerchug:

I did the floor of my utility trailer with Herculiner roll on bed liner. It went on easy enough and gives good traction, especially in the wet. It did dull rather quickly. Maybe you could paint it if that matters.

I also did the diamond plate bed of a trailer with the herculiner, good stuff, but has alot of texture..almost like rubber b b's....i did the foot rests on my cub with the rattlecan s&#t from duplicolor....works good, very durable, only need 1 can and finer grit/texture....want a pic, or no??

Yeah, if you've got a pic that'd be great! :beerchug:

I've used a lot of different kinds from the real pricy stuff all the way to spray cans on jeep floors. It's mostly about the prep in both cases but lately I've been a big fan overall of Rustoleum truck bed liner spray from wally world. It sprays nice and lasts for a long time. You can buy the expensive Upoll raptor liner which is awesome but for what your doing I think you'd be happy with what We mentioned.

I've covered the foot rests on several Cyclops tractors. One with Flex-Seal (as seen on TV) and the other with plain old rubberized undercoat out of a spray can.

I didn't do it for cosmetic reasons. Just an easy way to cover rusty spots under the rubber foot pads. Looks good though and so far has held up well.

Are you wanting to do away with the original rubber pads Ryan?

I used some rubber mat from TSC on one Cyclops. It also doubles as a good drink holder LOL :beer2:

Well long story short, the 2284 didn't come with pads but my 1864 did. Since the super is in such good cosmetic shape, I was thinking put the good set of footpads on the super to try and keep it original and since the 1864 is a worker, put the bed liner on the foot rests of it.
