Drive shaft question 782

I was just curious if anyone has replaced the stock drive shaft on a 782 with a barring type drive shaft off a 18 series? Can it be done, ok let me re phrase that lol is it something that can be done with out any major mods?

You mean with a CV style shaft, like out of an 1864?

If so, yes, it can be done, but the shaft length is different. Sam Mac is the driveshaft guru. He's done it.

I put a 2000 series shaft in my 782 with a CH18. I used Sam's trans adapter. It will fit a CV shaft as well. I have both shafts in the shed. I can see what the difference is in length. The 2000 series is easier to make the length you need. Here's a link to a couple pictures in my repower thread.
