Cub Cadet 149

1 Attachment(s)
I looking at buying a 149 hydro on craigslist. It is mostly complete except for the engine and deck. Seller wants $150 for it. I have a perfect running Kohler Magnum 12hp off of a cub cadet 1204 that I could put in it. I mostly want the tractor because it has the hydrostatic transmission and I have a homebuilt front end loader from my 1204 that I could put on it.

I don't know how many hours are on it. The seller said the hydro worked fine. Also it has hydraulic lift.

Do you think the $150 is a fair price?
Im worried about the hydo since I can't test it before I buy it, what can I look for?

Any other advice you can offer?

Attached is the only picture I have of it. The picture shows the engine but that is not included.

definitely worth it if it comes with that plow.

Since you already have a motor, and the 149 comes with the front blade, the chains and the headlights, I'd say buy it. It may turn in to a project tractor, but $150 isn't going to make or break you. :biggrin2.gif:

:bigthink: Isn't the blade alone worth $150.00???

It sounds like a good deal man. Like Mountain said the blade alone is worth a buck fifty. If you can afford it go for it.

X2, you'd have well over 150 in sellable parts if you were to decide you did not want it later on... (this is also known as phase 2 of the addiction:biggrin2.gif:)

Sounds like a great deal to me, as well.

It looks like it's worth the money especially of it comes the attached goodies. Keep in mind though that the hydro in the tractor will not run a FEL, it needs a seperate hydraulic pump and reservoir.

I wouldn't worry too much about the condition of the hydro/transaxle it's almost impossible to tear one up.

...I'm in Upstate NY an am looking for a blade for my 149. Buy the tractor and I'll give you 150 for the blade setup, (as long as you can meet me halfway).:beerchug:
