Cub 126 brakes

Hello all!

Newbie here with a 1969-70 Cub Cadet 126 and the brakes do no work whatsoever. This does not help very much when going dowhill...

I think its time to replace the pads as they are quite wore. My question here is where can I find new pads? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :biggrin2:

First and foremost, :Welcome2:

Pads are not available anymore. You have to re-line the old.

Here are a couple "how to" threads:

If you are trying to use the brake/clutch when going downhill, you need to stop. This is a tractor, not a car. Use a lower gear when going down hill. If the tires are sliding, brakes wont' help anyway. You need more aggressive tires (ags) and weight (wheel weights/fluid filled tires) to hold the rear end to the ground. Pressing on the clutch and hoping that the brake will slow you down on decent is a bad idea, and crash waiting to happen. Please, listen to this advice before you get hurt. But do fix the brakes. A gear drive without brakes is bad news.

There's a good thread in the tech section on relining the brake pads.
