Which to choose?

Alright its getting to be that time of year again to start my winter project. So I think I'm going start on another restore only. The thing is, I'm not quite sure which one to choose, my 1000 or 1200. Both need about the same attention just cant for the life of me make a decision on which so ill leave it up to y'all.

The 1200. I just flipped a coin. :biggrin2: :beerchug:

Pics of both, running condition and how far they each are from completion would give you better answers to this.

If both are about the same,, what I would do would be to look under the tractor... Filter, axel area,.. Which one is the dirtiest.. I would look at it with this approach. Or, do a check list.. A good one... If it is gonna be you take your time with.. Might as well do ALL the homework... than make that call...

or something stupid, like, which one has the lowest tire pressure of all four tires..:bigthink: pics :bigthink:

As I said before they are pretty well the Same condition both are usable machines only real difference is the 1000 has headlights and the 1200 dosnt. Both machines have little to no vibration the only issue n the 1200 is its lug bowl holes are cross threaded but I plan on putting studs in both.

I voted to restore the 1200, but my reasoning is the 1000 has headlights and you may need to use it for work in the winter.

Only reason I voted 1000 is it's more rare than the 1200.

my dad loves his 1000 he wont drive any of my other cubs , he don't like the red ones even, he did have to use my 782 ccc but he broke it somehow his 1000 is the only one that he loves haha :beer2:

Seems like the poll is leaning toward the 1200 as am I. Both machines will be down this winter because between my walk behind 2 stage my sons 127 and my 1450 we will have snow removal down. Still time for things to change but eTher way I plan to add headlights to the 1200 as well as a creeper and a 3 point hopefully a tiller as well. The 1000 will be gone through when the 1200 is "finished" with a 3 point and 1 bottom.

I was going to suggest that you restore the lesser of the two, but since you say they are both about the same, that doesn't work.

Since they both will be workers when finished, I would restore the one that you like LEAST first... That way when it is finished you will be more motivated to restore the "favorite" of the two. If you save the favorite until last, you may just end up getting them both done this winter.

Good luck in whatever you choose and please keep us posted on your progress.
