QA-36 90 degree gear box seals
 

I need a set of seals for the 90 degree gearbox on this blower. The Cub Cadet web site says they are no longer available. Is there a replacement part number?

SKF 7628. There are others. They aren't a hard seal to find. You can match them up easy. :beerchug:

They look a lot cheaper made now.

They still make seals like the original ones...... they are just $$$.

Where can I cross this SKF seal? Napa's the only parts store I really use but that number doesn't show up online.

What about the gearbox gasket itself? Is that available aftermarket?

Okay, I have two new seals but in looking at the gearbox closely I don't see any seals, just the bearings. I found a diagram of the gearbox and there is nothing labeled as a seal, just the inner and outer bearings.

When you remove the outer bearing, you will expose the seal.

The seals go behind the outer bearing. But you are correct..... the parts book doesn't show a seal on the gear box for a QA36. It doesn't show the seal until the gear box on a QA36A. :bigthink:

This is why you need to take things apart before ordering parts. Take it apart and see if it does, or does not have any seals.
