Expert opinions wanted....$$$

I would appreciate your input regarding the value of this offering.
I've been considering a snow blower for my 1864 but was wondering if a complete deal would be a better way to go. Thanks.

That seems a bit on the high side to me. Assuming the machine is in working mechanical order (no smoking, knocks, leaks, etc), the tractor and deck would sell for about 500 or so around my parts, give or take. The blower 400. So for that setup, I wouldn't go above 900 if I were looking to buy a setup as you are.

My advice: if you can get it for 800 or 900 snag it. Keep the blower, then come next spring sell the tractor and deck and recoup some of your money.

Good luck whatever you end up doing :beerchug:

Ryan,
Would I really have to sell the tractor next Spring??? LOL!! I'm not very good at selling stuff, especially Cubs!!:NailBite::Stop:
Thanks for your response.

Looks like a lot of blower for a 16HP. I'm guessing it's a 1641. If it's in nice condition his price seems about right from what I've seen lately. I'd try $900 but be prepared to go higher if you need to. :beerchug:

No you wouldn't!!! I'd never sell a Cub if I didn't have to, but we all have our limits. Get it and keep it! Those 1641's are good little workers but I agree with Sam, seems like a lot of blower for that engine.

I think this is where location plays a large part in how much something is 'worth'.

There's an 1811 with blower and deck that just hit c/l for $1700.

I'm chasing a 1440 with blower (450), deck and weights for $800 and I think it's a great price.

Thanks everyone. Yes it is a 1641.
Would this blower mount on my 1864? That's all I was really after, I don't "need" another cycolps....ahahahah.
Do these work directly off the pto via a belt with no gear box needed?

I could be wrong but that blower looks like the 551 blower we have. If so you would absolutely need hydraulic lift as they are very heavy. There is no gear box other than the one on the auger. It is run by belt direct from the pto. Our 20 hp tractors handle it well but it does take some horses in a deep snow to operate.

Yes, it is a 551. There are 2 gear boxes on it. One on the blower, and one on the auger. 551 and 451 are the same except for the housing is taller on the 551. (And it subsequently weighs more. :biggrin2:) :beerchug:

Update....
the seller and i have struck a deal.
1641 with 887 hours, engine runs well, hyd lift, snow blower, 48 inch deck, chains, weights and ag tires and extra turf tires. $850. Seems fair to me. The best part is that its ready for snow. Pictures to come after i get it home. Thanks all. :beerchug:
