First, my Cub addiction gets fueled by this awesome site; it's information, friendly users, and great wealth of overall knowledge pulls me in deep. Now, I'm reading through the thread on here about ATV tires. Hmm, used ATV tires, that's a good idea! So, stupid me starts searching through craigslist under the term "ATV". First search finds a nice 44" trail mower for a good price, cheaper than I've seen them go used for before. I've been trying to on and off keep an eye out for one. I'm the seat time kinda guy so next summer instead of push mowing the ditches and around/under the pine tree's, I'll hook this guy up and do it with style. Plus, I can offset it and cut my mowing time of the big field next door down (all just excuses, I know). I call the guy, and now apparently I'm getting a 44" Swisher pull behind mower. I'm actually considering selling a couple next Spring. I've never sold any Cubs before. Possibly the 71 and 127 but I can't be certain at this time....LOL!

Well it happened. I got it. Drove way out in the boonies for it, and found out the starter was bad. But, the guy (named Bo) turned out to be a nice guy. He threw in a new in box starter for it so we exchanged the cash, loaded it up, and away I went. I'll get better pics tomorrow, but here she is. Note: It looks a lot better in person, doesn't photograph well :biggrin2:

I will say this; it is BIG. A lot bigger than I expected it to be (though I don't know how small and light I expected a 44" rough cut mower made out of 11ga steel to be). It's rated to tackle up to about a 2" sapling so I can't wait to give it a workout!

Now I just have to figure out a pesky wiring problem :angry: Installed a new starter on it (old one was shot) and all I'm getting is a "click click". I re-ran the ground from the frame to the engine block and tried a new solenoid to no avail. When I turn the key, with a voltmeter on the starter I'm not getting 12v. I'm half tempted to rip all the wires out and start fresh :bash2: So very frustrating!!!! :bash2::bash2:

The wiring does look a little hacked, a valve adjustment on those OHV engines can help a hard start situation also when you get the wiring straightened out. Nice score on the Swisher.
