Hydro lever adjust on cyclopse

blowing snow this morning with { new to me equipment} 451 blower and 1864 ... hydro wants to head right back to neutral, when moving forward, I have attempted to tighten the cross shaft, but it seems I get nowhere' the lever just seems slopy etc. Trunion looks to be in decent shape , little or no wear. Have I missed something. On the older tractors they show tightening the lever to 8 pounds of pull using a fish scale. My 1812 is adjusted for plowing , tilling etc. set the hydro and forget it. I really want the same on this guy too. advice and thoughts welcome. thank you

You need to tighten the nut that puts pressure on the friction disk. It's on the left side as your sitting on the tractor kind of behind the dash panel.

that's the nut I have tightened . it seems to do nothing...I have taken 5-6 revolutions and no better.

The nut seems to get tight but lever is still sloppy,

Wondering if my dished washers are wore out?

To replace the dished washers do you have to remove the plastic dash???

If you need to replace the bell washers or the friction disk you'll need to remove the plastic dash and that is a PITA job. Do you have a copy of the service manual for the Cyclops? If you need one send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send it to you. It's a 12 MB PDF.

See if you can get a Stover nut on there to replace the original one.

That's the nut, try tightening it some more. Maybe someone had it loosened.

It is a locking nut.
