Mounting a 1991 and later Haban blade on a cyclops?
Since I'm having some trouble with my 2072, which is now known as "you dirty sob". I thought I would mount the Haban blade on the 1782. I took the leftover rear mounting brackets from the older style 60" mower on the 2072 to the 1782, but the front 1/2" or so is blocked by the footrest. Is it normal to relieve the footrest so these brackets can bolt to the frame or are they normally mounted another way? I see there is a newer style bracket listed for the blade, but it looks like there would be the same problem.
Thanks, Geoffrey |

Trim the foot rest's. I do it on my Cyclops Supers when I put the rear end brace on them.

I didn't have to cut either piece on my 2182 with the haban blade. If had to cut any thing, it would be the mounting plate. Sorry, I don't like cutting up my tractor. Pics of original mounting set up on a 1992. Note my plate is 9.5 x 4.5 inches and mounts different than the one pictured. Hope this helps.

Well, since I will be putting a Sam Mac brace on the 1782, notch the footrest it is. Don't worry PGHsteelworker, no hack jobs allowed on my Cubbies. It will be done nicely or not at all.

The brace has the Haban mount hole in it already. I'll get you some better pics of how much you need to trim. It's minor.

As an update to this, Aaron at Xtreme now has the correct 1991 and later Haban blade rear brackets for sale for $28.00 per pair. I'm also going to send him a revised drawing that includes the extra hole for Sam's rear end braces.

If you're putting it on one of your Cyclops tractors, then yes you need the new style brackets if you don't want to notch the fenders. I'm not too sure Aaron has the extra hole in them for the axle brace and they are just 1/8" like the originals. When I get a chance, I'm going to drill the extra hole and have him make some out of 1/4" like the braces are. As far as I know the new style bracket will on older machines, but the square bracket is not just a bolt on for the cyclops'.
Lets see a picture of your blade. I think 407 is what's on my newer style blade. I just drove about a 5 hr. round trip to get one with power angle last monday, but I won't say what I gave for it for fear of starting a riot. :biggrin2: |

This is a picture of the plow before it was removed from the sellers tractor. I got am email from Aaron , it doesn't look like he has made the required hole in the new style bracket yet.
