12" x 12" SGT rear rims

I'm interested in a set of 12" x 12" rear rims for a super. I really prefer bare and rust free rims. You can PM me with info.

Thanks,
Geoffrey

12" is a WIDE rim. Supers only come with 8-1/2" wide rims. I have 10-1/2" wide on my stuff.

Sam,
I was thinking tire size. I went and measured the rims on my 1782 at about 10" overall width. It's kind of hard to tell with the way the Tru-Powers overlap the rim and trying to hold the tape on both sides of the wheel myself. Sound about right? 8-1/2" would be awfully narrow for a 12" wide tire wouldn't it?

At any rate, I am in need of a CORRECT set of rear rims for my 2072 with 26x12x12 tires.

Sam's size is correct. I can post a pic if you need verification. I have a tool to measure rim width like a tire shop has.

No, just wanted to make sure. Like I said, it wasn't easy to get a good measurement.

Rims are measured inside bead to bead. I think you're measuring overall width. The rims I am using came from Xtreme. They are 10-1/2" wide with a 1-5/8" back spacing. That puts 1" of the added width inboard and 1" outboard. The 2" extra width makes the tire flatten out. This is what they look like.

That said I have a set of factory 8-1/2" wide rims on a 2182 that I may want to off if I decide to spring for a another set of 10-1/2" rims for it. Need to get it back together and running first. I'll keep you posted.

Sounds good Sam. I was just looking, so maybe I wouldn't have to take my chains back off the 2072 in the spring.

Geoffrey

I moved this into the General Talk section because it has turned into more of a discussion about SGT rear rims. Feel free to post " Wanted SGT Rear Rims" in the wanted section.

That said If I decide to off the rims on the 2182 you'll be the first to know. :beerchug:

Since this was moved to the General talk area, I want to make a note.

The only difference in the SGT and GT rims is the offset. They are the same, but the offset is more on the GT rim. So.... you could drill the spot welds on the hub of a GT rim and re-weld it so the offset is correct for the SGT, or visa-versa.

Actually...

parts lookup says that GT wheels are 8" and SGT wheels are 8.5". I don't think that .5" would affect anything and cant verify it at the moment. If I ever get AGs for the Super I will do what Mac did.

I picked a 782 and 982 but checked others and they were consistent, here's the parts links:
