Hydraulic routing on a 2072

Needing some info on hydraulic path of a 2072. Putting a 3 valve in and curious on ports. So looks like the 2072 (yellow) sends pressure to the steering first then back to the control valves. The dump from steering ties into the out for return to the pump.
The 3 valve unit (Black) appears to have a bypass indicating I would send pressure to the valve and from the bypass (power beyond?) to the steering. Out port is plugged. Hoping someone has insight or can direct me. Searches so far have failed to elaborate. Probably my search technique. :BangPC: Guessing I may have option to do either way... |
Plumb it in just like the yellow valve. You MUST go to the steering first. Otherwise, you won't have steering when using hydraulic function. You can use either the "OUT" port or the "BYD" port for return. Both ports are in the same cavity. Only difference is location.

So both exits are the same cavity. I was expecting valving for the bypass. That makes it pretty simple then.

So one more question on this valve. Does one of them have a float and which?

Yes. The one with the larger end cap on bottom.

Have another foolish question. I messed up on marking the line routing in and out of the power steering box. Anyone have a link or pic on how the ports are used.

In: From pump Out: T's into return from the valve and runs back to pump Aux: Feed's the valve stack LT: Left turn RT: Right turn If you still need a pic just say. :beerchug: |

On another thought. With the 3 valve setup. One for rear and other two for factory center/ front ports. Would you run rear on inside or outside position? |
It depends on what your doing with it.
If your using the remote outlets for an implement that needs a float position, then I'd hook them up to that. (I know that the float spool is on one end or the other, but don't remember which.) Otherwise, I'd put the outermost one on whatever I use the most. If you use the 3pt most, make it outer. If it's a front blade machine, then make it the outer. If your making implements to use the remote hydraulics for, make it the outer. It's really up to you. 3PT needs some way to float. Either, with a slotted lift, or off the float position of the valve.
