Sandblaster + Noob = MESS!!!!

Thought I might take one on the chin tonight and give you old timers a chance to laugh a little (and possibly remember back when...). I picked up one of those small sandblasters that attach to the compressor. I think most of you have seen them, nothing special just connects to the compressor and then has a dipper that plunges into your sand container. Whelp, I got it all connected and was super excited to test this baby out!!! I opened the garage door and put the part I wanted to clean on a small bench out side of the garage thinking this was smart because I was outside. Well I was outside but had ZERO idea how much of this stuff bonces back off the metal! :bash2: After I admired how well the part was coming out I turned around and was I suprised. The whole garaged was just covered with this black beauty sand! Like all over the freak'in place!!! Later that night my wife came upstairs after looking for something in the garage and asked me if I did something in the garage because there was this black sand all over and in everything :bash: Guess next time I do this outside with the garage door closed :bigthink:

Get yourself a small blast cabinet, it will save you in the long run on.

Yeah, live and learn. I do all the blasting out in the yard just for that reason.

Might wanna lay a tarp down too. You can screen it and reuse it.

If you have a leaf blower, use that starting at the back of garage and work your way out the door.
I use the leaf blower instead of a broom now as it is done in two minutes.
And you can blow the dust off things too as you go.
