Whats your favorite repair for a plastic dash edge that wore through from where the hood vibrates against it?

Rough it up and fiberglass it. Or, plastic weld it. :beerchug:

I do have some marine epoxy resin.

And epoxy glue.

And there is always the super glue mixed with baking soda trick.

In the 70's there was a toy called 'spin welder'.

Or I could put my soldering gun on a variac and melt something into it.. maybe make a mess.

I use JB Weld but you gotta get it feathered out good because it is a PIA to sand. Here are a few I've done.

This one is typical of the diesels. I used tape on the back side where the hole was.

Several coats and some sanding.

Then I sprayed a little paint and it turned out pretty good.

This one was in 2 pieces. I used fiberglass on the back side and JB on the front. It still looks good today.

I now put a piece of Armaflex insulation between the dash and hood when I'm working my tractors to keep them from wearing.
