Part interchange question

Anyone know if a Fender Pan from a 782 will fit a 982?
Saw one for sale on ebay for around 40 bucks.

No........There is a difference in frame length as well as rear wheel diameter.

The fender pans are the same....The frames are different.

Umm, That's what I was thinkin' too, Lew. Longer frame, fender pan the same.

Ok, I'm dense..will it fit correctly or not?
I have a slightly crumpled R fender the more I tried to straighten it the worse it got.Would not worry about it but the tire chains keep grabbing .
I am just going to replace the whole thing.
Can you point me in the right direction?:HeadScratch:
