Snowthrower belt rubbing

I have a snowthrower on my Cub 127 and the BELT seems to be rubbing against tractor in PICTURE! Gear box mounting plate doesn't seem to have any SIDE TO SIDE movement to adjust! Wondering how can I adjust?

What model of snow thrower have you got mounted...???

Woops!

The Snowthrower model is QA-42! Thank You!

How about some pictures of the way this snow thrower is mounted. Side, front & top views would be helpful.

:WWP:

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's a QA42A.
My guess is it doesn't have the bushings on the shaft and the gearbox mounting has slid over to the side.

What would get get if you re-mounted the Gear Box and mounting plate (both) 180°.....????

Yosemite Sam 01-19-2015 04:08 PM

It appears that your gear box is from a "QA 36/42 A", I'm guessing that the front mounting plate is too.

I don't have a QA 36/42 and a QA 36/42A here that I can set side by side to compare the differences but I'm guessing that this is where your problem lies.

I think the front mounting plate has a "lip" on the bottom edge preventing it from being turned over.

That accommodates the belt tensioner pivot/anchor eyebolt.

Does not the pulley hole in the tractor plate dictate the outer plate orientation?
And also disallow mixing of plates from QA__ to QA__A if there is a difference?

What if the gearbox input pulley is different and bigger than original?

And how come O.P.'s 127 does not have the QA latch assembly?
