K241A question

How much compression should there be on a K241A?

do you have spark advance or an ACR?

hillscubs 01-29-2015 08:19 PM

I am not sure. How do I tell? Also it is in a 109.

that should have an ACR. since it has an ACR you won't get an accurate reading unless disconnect it. Kohler recommends checking crankcase pressure. what do you have?

Im not sure how to check crankcase pressure. My compression is about 30lbs.

I just wrestled with what I thought was a compression problem on a 12 hp. I also only had 30# compression. These guys on the forum correctly pointed out that the ACR would result in an inaccurate compression test. So your 30# may be OK.

Are you having problems with the engine or just inquiring about how much compression you should have?

download a Kohler manual. shows how to make your own water manometer and check it
