How I'm using Evernote to help with my Cub Cadet
 

If you have not heard of a software application called Evernote let me tell you what it is. With Evernote you can pretty much collect notes and take notes on just about anything. You can take pictures with your phone and send them to your Evernote. Type stuff in by hand and create notes. Or another cool thing is Evernote has plug-ins for more of the top internet browsers. So how does this help? Let me explain. There is a TON of information here within the OCC forum. I try to subscribe to important things and make bookmarks but it's just not working. If I bookmark something I'm not always sure why I did. How many times has someone started a thread and someone adds some nugget of great info not might not even be related to the original thread :bash2: Plus you can't give any color around why you took the bookmark. Same thing for sub'ing to a thread that you feel is important. It's great to get emails when something is added but again, why did I sub? So now with Evernote I can not only create a personal bookmark to something I feel is important but take all the notes I want around why I feel it's important. Even screen shot a part of the thread that I feel is important so I know why I made the bookmark. I can also tag it anyway I want so I can find important information fast. It's also pretty cool because I can take pictures of things with my phone and send the info right into Evernote for safe keeping. Anyway, thought I would share this with you all :)

Sounds kinda cool, I don't have the time right now but would like to look into this a little later.

The main reason that I started using this is because I have way to many bookmarks in general for stuff, not just cubs. I bookmark something and pretty much just toss it into a waste land of other bookmarks. Though the sad part really comes in when I end up just asking Google for something because I find it to hard to find the link in my bookmarks. :beatdeadhorse:

I've only just started really focusing in on this but I feel it is worth the work. Now this might be pushing it a little but there is also another little plus the tool offers, sharing :biggrin2: How cool would it be to have an Evernote book focused just on OCC. We could actually have a notebook with links to all the areas of this site. Now I realize that we can search but if you are new it's hard to know what to search for. Plus, if I want to work on my clutch on my tractor typing in the word clutch in the search engine brings back way to many hits. It's just an idea right now but if I can make something worth while I'll share it with everyone :)

Does Evernote offer reminders? Like for upcoming appointments and events?
