Cyclops Plastic Still Avail New

I see on cubparts.com that we can still order cyclops plastic parts. Hoods are $200, grill is $120 etc. Is there some something I'm missing? No one seems to have anything used, so I'm thinking about just getting it new.

No, not missing anything. Most people are just too cheap to buy new. No used available because they are all broken and cracked up.

I wouldn't exactly call it being "cheap". Sometimes you can buy a whole tractor with a good side panel on it for the price of a new side panel.

The only plastic I've had that I couldn't fix to make it at least usable and decent appearance is the front grill/headlight housing where the feet that bolt to the frame are broken off. Even those could be repaired if I had the right tools to do the job.

It doesn't make economic sense to spend $600 or whatever for new plastic to put on a $600-$800 tractor.

I guess I view my 2284 as a lot more valuable than that!

I have a 2084 with many cracks in the grill area. I do plan on getting a new one as I never found a decent one used. I have not replaced that grill/nose piece as I vowed not to do that till I got a front bumper to protect it. Well I now have a bumper so a new grill is in my future too.

As just proven, cost is relative. (It's an opinion.)

Very true. I will likely try to find some used and buy some new.

Just a heads up, if you have a later tractor with the round headlights you can buy the grill shell only but if you have the early style you end up needing the grill kit that includes the headlights and mounting hardware. These are the part numbers and prices that I found.

931-3178 GRILLE $100.88
931-3115A SIDE PANEL-LH $146.80
931-3116 SIDE-PANEL-RH $148.93
931-3089B HOOD $159.48
Complete hood, grill & sides $556.09

759-3773 Kit, Grille w/Round Lamps $120.37
Complete hood, grill, sides & lights $575.58

This will cover the Cyclops except for the 2182, 2086 &1782, the side panels on them are different and NLA but Andy2182 is working on water-jetting the side panels for the 1782 & 2182

Maybe one day I'll pony up for the panels but at this point I can just polish mine up and put the money into things that matter. :beerchug:

Or wait a minute, on second thought :bigthink: Sam, don't you need some new panels? Why don't you go ahead and order some new ones and I'll take your crummy old ones off your hands! :biggrin2: :beer2:
