A picture is worth a thousand words

This is just a small rant about people selling on the internet.

If you have something for sale post a picture of it, it will sell much faster with a pic. If you can't figure out how to post pics on whatever site you may be selling on at least have pics ready to send in an email, most people start to lose interest if it takes you a week to get around to taking pics so have them ready.

Also if you have 20 things for sale and someone asks for pics send them pics of everything, don't just send pics of a few items and expect it to be enough. If I'm going on a multiple hour ride to go buy a lot of items I want pics of everything so I can make a more informed decision, there's really nothing worse than wasting time and money going to look at something just to find out the sellers idea of good condition is a pile of rust with holes all through it.

I have noticed too the higher the price they want for something, the less likely they will have a picture in the ad.

I agree with you 99% BUT there are exceptions to every rule. For example, the posts without images seem to get less views/hits/reads. This can benefit guys that take the time to check everything out.

Case in point: I found (and a buddy bought because I'm a nice guy) a running CC 2182 with 48" deck for $350. Guy had no pics, very little info, and was even less responsive over text/phone. But, checked it out, started up, drove on trailer, and violla; the deal of the year was born.

Still say it should have been me to get that :biggrin2:

I agree with both, good points. And I buy rusty junk too and have driven a long way but the disease is bad

Old timers aren't too tech savvy, so they don't post pics.

Take that to the scrap yard. Guy doesn't know it's not a hydro. He has a cooked AGS. Maybe it will buff out. :biggrin2:
