Playing hooky from work today, gonna work on dads mower!
 

Well, playing hooky from work today. I'm going to work on dads grasshopper 1212 mower. It has a m12 in it so shouldn't be to difficult. My younger brother changed oil put a new battery in it and couldn't get it to crank. Think mice may have gotten into from way it sounds. My brother said smoked rolled out when he tried to start it. Think the mag is bad too, it runs awhile gets hot and quits. Time to load up my tools and go see! All else fails my brother is gonna get a cubcadet 1211 to mow with for awhile!

Well I didn't have any luck. The starter solenoid was falling apart, literally so replaced that still no dice. Had a blown fuse so have to get some more fuses and think after getting home and doing some looking at the wiring schematic, I believe I know the problem! Their is a black wire that runs from the ignition switch and is supposed to be hooked to the + of the battery. Well we were hooking it to the - side, hence why I couldn't get power to the ignition switch. So need to go back and try that thursday evening. Whoever thought running the fuel line behind the flywheel was a good idea, it's not!
