680 aluminum rear
2 Attachment(s)
How well would the aluminum rear hold up in the 680 with heavy pulling compared to a cast rear as in a 125. I would be pulling 12" to 18" dia. logs about 20' to 40' long (pic of rig I built with log splitter) out of a wooded area. If a cast rear is better, would a rear and hydro from a 129 fit, as I'm not that familiar with the 680.
Thanks in advance for any input. Darryl |

HI Darryl, those are some big logs. I'd say the alum rear is good. It has the better carrier and axles. (fine spline) The best setup is to put the fine spline in a cast transaxle. Are you going after that 680 that was in the cl adds in the Poconos? That was a great deal, if i was closer i'd already have it.:biggrin2: Mike

Thanks for your input. That Cub was only 6 miles from me. Shot him an email that same day and didn't get a phone call, so I assumed it was sold. :crap: With that rig I have, they don't pull real hard.

I didn't get any spam, but when I reply to anything like CL, I use a trash email account.

I've pulled plenty of logs that size with my 1282 (same tractor) and it handles it great. If you do end up getting it or one like it it'll be a great lil work tractor
