Cub Cadet Original questions
Hey all,
Im restoring a cub cadet original and coming down to paint time and now starting to pay attentions to the little details, First question my drag link for steering has some slight bends in it, is it suppose to have bends or be perfectly strait. Second my dash has a hole drilled in it for a power gauge for when it charges the battery located above the steering wheel, is that original? or is it an accessory because i cant find a dash decal with a hole cut there. Third PAINT i needto buy paint, im going to paint with a paint gun so planning to order by the gallon, serial is in the 37k range so wat color yellow and white should i use to keep it original. Also paint for the engine block, Where should i get that? Ill post some pics as of progress so far, Thanks for your help! Liam |

Check with Sponsors listed at the top of the page. |
Ok, Thanks.
I checked the paint code link it dosent say anything about high temp yellow.. thats what i need... |
You can paint the engine black if you like. All replacement engines were black.
IF....you are going to paint the cooling fins, you may encounter discoloration if you use #483 yellow. |
The paint on the block doesn't need to be high temp, it will only discolor the paint on the fins around the exhaust.

Ok, I would paint the parts that covered by covers High heat black and the showing parts yellow, i have seen black motors and they dont look very good (my opinon).
Thanks, Liam |
Good to have you Liam. There are some of us that are currently doing Originals now like Zippy and myself and others that have done them as well. Post some pictures for us as we all like to see what you're dealing with. Does yours have any options? Fenders?
