Bald Eagle Sighting
4 Attachment(s)
For several weeks now a pair of Bald Eagles have been spotted around my place as well as the neighbors. I have had a few people tell me about seeing them around. I was sent these pictures of this eagle at our neighbors pond who has ducks and so far 2 of them have been killed (now they know what's happening to their ducks) Thought this was very neat as you don't see a bald eagle everyday.

My wife has been watching the live cam of the Decorah eagles in Iowa. They have 3 chicks in the nest now. It takes a lot of food.

I was driving by some conservation land that was in the middle of nowhere and some MEN IN BLACK had me stop , UH OH. Five Big black sedans , TWO black Helo's , UH OH.
I had to ask one MIB , what is going on ??? He said they were letting a pair of Bald Eagles go in the conservation area. Serious business !!! I think that is what they told me , they could have used the MIB forgetful flashy thingy poo in your pants forget what you seen thing. |
We have the Cohocton river that runs through the back end of our property so I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see all kinds of critters....and believe me we do!!:beerchug:

That's cool Martin!
Here in south eastern Illinois, they are scarce too. We have the Wabash River not far from me, and I hear they are more prevalent over near it, but I did get to see one this fall during harvest. Didn't get to take a pic, but it was still cool. I was driving down the road in the semi, so a pic would have been hard. Interestingly enough, we have some younger ones which are tougher to spot because they don't yet have the white head. Lew is exactly right, if you've never seen one up close they are very large birds! Thanks for sharing Martin! I wish one would swoop out of the sky and feast on a couple cats at my place....... oops, was that out loud?:biggrin2: |
