1200 problems
I have a 1200 that I've been having to use jumper cables to jump from the battery to the starter in order to start it, and it would start fine but today I took the electric clutch off and made sure it was good, found out it's not getting power to the clutch, and after I put it all back together the engine acts like it's locked up. I checked the oil and it is in between full and add so I would think that is the problem. I'm about to the end of my rope with this mower. Thanks for the help.

Check to make sure your wiring is hooked up correctly. Here's a wiring diagram from the resources here ( bottom diagram )

If it spun fine before you removed the PTO clutch, but not after reinstallation the most likely cause is improper installation of the PTO.
On a second note, it is not necessary to remove the PTO to "check" it, unless you are checking the bearings. Jeff is correct about checking the wiring. You DO have a wiring issue. |
Ok thanks, the pulley on the pto seemed really loose so that's why I took it off initially. Thanks for the wiring diagram I looked on the Internet but couldn't find one thanks again.

Oh and by the way, just to make sure do any of you have a diagram for the pto? Just to make sure I put it on right, I'm almost sure I did but who knows maybe I forgot something.

If you reassemble the electric PTO clutch incorrectly, it will seem like the engine is locked up. BTDT.
Read the manual and follow the assembly sequence. |
