102 help needed!

I am hoping someone can help me out here. I am supposed to go look at this 102 to see if I want to buy it, but I don't know a thing about nf's. What I can see is it looks to have creeper gear shift lever, but I don't see the breather tube. I see the weights, but not sure if they are part of the deal. What I am very confused by, is why does it appear to have two lift handles? Thanks

First I've seen two lift handles on a cub. This one has independent lift for rear&belly? Spring assist? It at least looks pretty nice. How it runs is the bigger question for me.

I'd put the muffler back under the hood. But that's me.

I'm supposed to go look at it @ 10:30 this morning. To me, it looks to be in decent shape. According to my friend, the back story is that the people were using it as there mowing tractor until they got a green machine. He said they had it running through the winter, but that is all I know. Thanks for your response.

Overall, that 102 looks to be in good shape. That is not a creepy gear in it. Instead, it looks more like a rope that is similar to the one on the left foot rest or whatever it is....maybe a small tree that grew up through it....but it is not a creepy gear. The 2nd lift handle should not be there. It may be a PO mod or just an extra part that is laid in there.

Go look at it and see what you think. Looks like it needs just the TLC that you could give to it.:biggrin2:

Quite possible. I have never seen anything like that before and there does seem to be some kind of lift on the rear---I saw a bar with holes on it back there.

Well, guy's the 102 followed me home. I couldn't stand to leave it there with all those green things!:IH Trusted Hand: Anyway, yes it is a creeper with a bent lever, and no breather poking through the tunnel. The second handle is connected to what appears to be a decently designed cat "0", without the arms or the linkage between them and the lift mechanism. Other than that I think I got a good tractor for my "FIRST" nf. The creeper works and shifting seems nice and crisp. Put in a battery and drove it off the trailer.

There are a small handful of Two Lever Cubs out there, one of them is an "O" and I don't remember what the other ones are... But now I see there is at least one more of them.

Congratulations!

Thanks. Unfortunately I'm going to have to make it a one handle tractor. If this is a factory install, I can see why they did not make many of them. When the lift handle is in the up position, there is zero room to have your leg there. After looking it over, I can't help but think that it has at a minimum had a paint job. There looks to be some overspray on the rubber boot that is on the steering column. Either way it seems to be a sound, good looking machine, that I'm certain will be used for years to come.
