K301 Tach
 

I wasn't sure if this needed to be in the 'General' talk or the 'Engine' forum. So, feel free to move this post where you feel it should be. But I was surfing through Ebay last night and came across a 1250 that had a tach in place of what was the hourmeter. I thought that was pretty cool. So I emailed the seller and asked him if he put that tach in and where he got it. He said he got it from Kirkengines.com. I have heard about this guy a time or two on this forum. But his site is currently down for maintenance. So, my question is this....does anyone know where he gets those tachs from? I don't see him making them....but then again he could be.

David Kirk use to sell a Analog Tach that would nicely fit into the Dash Panel of a Cub Cadet. He had these specially made up for him. Due to the "lack of enthusiasm, and poor sales, he discontinued offering that product. I have looked and looked myself, and can't find a good analog tach that was comparable. Now there are several "digital tachs" (ie: Sentac, Tiny Tach, etc) that can be used.

Well, that sucks. I found this pic while surfing the web. I'd love to get ahold of one.

I wish I'd have bought one back when he was still selling/had them. It was a 'future plan' item.

Maybe we can try and get one of our sponsors to contact Kirkengines.com with hopes that they'd buy a contract of 100 from his supplier. There's already four of us just today that would pick one up. :beer2::beerchug:
