Starter problems
 

we have a 1554 with a kohler engine. The starter drags even with a new battery, I also have a smaller model with a 42 inch cut which does the same thing. Is this a common problem with Cadets or do I just have two with the same problem? The bigger one finally just won't even make a sound now and like I said earlier, it has a brand new battery. Can't even jump it off with a truck now. any input would be greatly appreciated.

check your grounds where they bolt to the frame, make sure they are clean and tight
