Needed a part for the Suburban that isn't available
So I made it myself :biggrin2:
http://smg.photobucket.com/user/JRD7...urban%20repair '01 Suburban 2500LT with a 6.0L and nobody makes an exhaust manifold flange :bash2: Well, except me. Laid it out and center punched a spot for the hole. Centered it in the four jaw chuck on my lathe. Not how one jaw is opposite from the other three. The hole would have hit the jaw if flipped. Drilled it to 1" then bored it to 2.520 Machined a counterbore for the exhaust gasket. Drill the pattern on my benchmill. Cut to rough shape on the abrasive cutoff saw Grind to final shape :beerchug: |

Nice job Jeff! I was going to say..... they do make those. Bought them before. :biggrin2: |
Still impressive. Wish I had the tools and toys to make my own parts for my stuff...but then again if I had all the tools and toys I'd be able to afford the new parts LOL. As usual awsome work

Thanks :beerchug: I will be forwarding this info to the garage. Doing my own work put me further behind on cub parts :bash2: |
Jeff
Killer work as always. Yeah maybe you could have bought it but it's cool that you made your own. At least you know it was done right. :beerchug: |

I really didn't know how bad my flange was until they got it on the lift and took off the pipe. I'd really hate to pay $40 to overnight a $25 part  |
