Hi from the United Kingdom

Hi all,

Got my first cub cadet, a January 1963 Cub Cadet Original with three point linkage. You don't see many in the UK so I am very pleased. I am sure I will have loads of questions for you all soon!

Tom:

First, welcome to OCC..... :Welcome2:

Glad to see you here. There are a few of your fellow countrymen here.

The Original is a popular sought after model, being it was Cub Cadet's first model of Garden Tractor . The rear hitch is not original by IH in design, but very interesting.

As you move along with maintenance, repairs, or restoration, OCC has an array of well experienced members to help you with your questions.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Are you sure the lift is not original? I know of another CC 70 in the UK that has an identical lift setup..

I can't say for sure what was offered in the UK, but here in the States, that is unique. Looks like a nice and beefy design.

That's interesting, maybe it was a "UK only" option. Do you know anything about the export of Cub cadet Originals to the UK?

Not specifically. Generally speaking, while IH had ownership, Cub Cadet tractors were exported, to include the UK.

We have members here from 16 different countries around the world. Cub Cadet tractors at some point in time has made to these lands. Just had a fellow from South Africa said he had one down there.

Without looking at the Stat's, I am going to guess, we have about a dozen of your fellow countryman that are here with Cub Cadet tractors. They echo what you have said, in that Cub Cadets are rare in the UK.

Welcome to OCC! That rear lift is cool. I've never seen one like it.

:Welcome2:Tom. Glad to have you as a member. Nice looking "sweaty" Original cub. I like the front license plate and your rear hitch is very unique, probably made at the plant in France :biggrin2:. I do like the looks of it and the ability to make multiple adjustments to it!
