Will it fit?

I have this 82 or so Cub with a smoking engine, and this rally with great engine. Will it bolt on? Drive shaft? Wiring? Thanks for any help. Kevin

It might, but it will take some work. The mounting to the plate is the same. the wiring is different. The biggest problem is the PTO, you will need to remove the PTO and do some measuring. Some others that have more experience will give you more info.

I can not make out the model of the cub. Which engine does it have in it ?

the Cub is a 682 and has a 17hp series 1. the rally has a series 2.

It should be a bolt up just make sure to use the spacers from the Cub when bolting it to the mounting plate. The drive shaft adapter to the flywheel will have to come from the Kt if they are different. The wiring from the stator might be different but that can be figured out pretty easy. As mentioned before the PTO might be a problem especially if the shafts are different sizes.

Thanks RR. Im good with wiring so that should be no prob. Ill look at the PTO maybe I can use the one on the donor engine?

Mag's and KT's are exactly the same except for the Magneto Ignition for the spark, so engine to tractor wiring is different. You will either have to use a relay to kill it, or rewire and install a new key.

On another note, crankshaft size was set my tractor manufacturer, so no, the motor may not work.... Not with a CCC PTO anyway.

Ive had the rally going and the electric PTO works. The only thing wrong with the rally is a few broken steering parts. Its a nice tractor. If the rally PTO fits in the 682 and the belt will line up, it should work. Right?

It should, and prolly line up ok, but what you might run into, is pto pulley size difference. check pulley belt width and diameter,
Usually those crankshafts are 1" or 1-1/8".
Thinking cub is 1-1/8"
so if the rally is 1" you will have to use the rally pto.
Now if the crank is 1-1/8, you can use your cub pto clutch, I think you get what we are saying.
also depending on the deck you choose the deck pulley's can be changed also to fit the engine pto clutch diameter and belt width, so there are choices.
Best check it out before do the actual switch.
Also other manufactures used electric clutches with various combinations.
some detective work might net you acceptable results.
Prolly somebody will chime in with something also.
