Removing steering column

Is there a trick to removing the steering column in a 1450 with the hydro controls attached to the column?

I didn't see it addressed in the service manual. Thanks

did you remove the u bolt around the column holding the plate for the valve?

Thanks Lew

I think I feel those, 2 of them and the nuts to loosen on the plate under the hydro.

Might be easier to take the 2 bolts out of the spool valve to mounting plate, leaving the valve/ hoses connected. and remove the plate with the column.
Thinking there might be a couple of spacers on those 2 bolts that you might want to catch so you don't loose them.(spool to plate spacers)
I also have removed the hoses and take the complete assy,
valve/plate/ column down and out together.
just preference I guess.
If you don't disturb valve on the column while working on the column, it all lines up easily on reinstall.
Either way it is not a big job/rocket science.:beerchug:
