72

Picked this little 72 up off of CL for $150. It runs great with no smoke, looks like original paint and decals, deck is in great shape but has a frozen spindle. I do have the air cleaner cover but I need to find a filter. What is with these rear tires? I don't think I have seen this style before.
I also picked up the brass tag #80 JD cart for $25.:biggrin2: |
Oak,
Nice little tractor.. glad somebody that cared got it.. I saw the post and was tempted but I already have a nice little 72... That little 7hp is the smoothest K series Kohler ever built.. Have fun and enjoy!! Thanks for getting it so I didn't have to!!:beerchug: |
Oh yeah...
meant to comment on the tires.. I have seen them on an original before... but never a tractor that late.. If memory serves me correct they are BF Goodrich.. anybody know how many 72's were built?? :bigthink: Its got to be a fairly rare model. |

Neat little tractor. Your gonna love it. Those are Bridgestone/Firestone Diamond Pattern turf flotation tires and are still available in limited sizes. They were used on the IH Lo-Boy 154, 184 and 185.

Looks good Oak,was that the cl one?
from the looks of that bungie it needs a return spring on the clutch. |

This is from the original's service manual, same tires I think. Guess someone had a set lying around? I like em. Good score on the cart too, I take one all day long for $25. :beerchug: Attachment 66838 Bill |
