Hydro Problem?
I recently bought a 5234D. It has 275 hours. I don't know if the PO serviced anything. The brakes were not working at all and only needed adjusted.
While driving it in high range with no load, it has an occasional, barely noticeable jerk/hesitation. Twice, when I took off from a stop, it hesitated for a 1/2 second, then took off. I don't know much about hydro's, but it acts like an auto trans low on oil or stopped up filter. The hydro fluid level is where it should be. If the filters haven't been changed, could that cause these symptoms? In any case, I'm intending to change the fluid and filters. |
Yes, fluid and filter can cause that issue. A hydrostat is very different from an automatic transmission.
Maybe this will help you understand the fundamentals of a hydrostatic trans. :beerchug: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=25192 |
changing the fluid/filter is always the first step when your having issues with a hydro, start there and let us know if the problem is still there afterwards.

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty busy these days. I'm gone 5 days a week. I have a 1/4 acre garden as well as other chores to do on the weekend.
I'll change everything when I can and see if that fixes it. |
