Is this a viable option for our Kohler Command/Briggs V-Twin engines?

Ran across this this morning and had the idea, check out this product (not new to most people, I'm sure):

http://prosportgauges.com/oil-filter-adaptor-plate.aspx

Could we use something like this on our V-Twin engines (I have a Command in mind)? It'd give us 4 easy taps to install a pressure gauge, oil temp gauge, or anything else applicable we wanted to. Just seems like it'd be an easy solution to adding a couple useful gauges to our machines.

Thoughts gentlemen? :bigthink:

I just put a brass "T" in the oil pressure line and ran one side up to the oil pressure gauge on the dash. It cast about $10 for the parts and about $25 for the gauge. I looked for a gauge that only went to 60 psi but could not find one so I made do with this one. As you can see, I moved the Hobbs meter under the hood since I never look at it while I'm on the mower and it offers no useful info except oil changes etc.

Cool setup but I don't think it will play on a Vanguard. The filter is very close to the frame as it is at least on a 1641.

Sam,

I mentioned the Vanguards simply because they are a V-Twin but my main thought was a Command.

I think it'd be great to add the adapter, add an oil temp gauge as well as an oil pressure gauge all from one central adapter/location. Just curious if it's viable or a dumb idea :beerchug:

If your dealing with the Vanguard you can do the almost the same thing using a stock Briggs remote oil filter adaptor. It has two plugs on the adaptor plate. I bought two used 16hp Vanguard engines that had these installed, appears to be a factory part on some models.

That thing sure looks tempting to get for a Magnum. Plenty of space where the remote filter is and it would be behind the firewall with no lines going across the engine to the oil sentry port where they can melt.

Which size is the correct one?

That also looks like a great option.
