105 wiring
 

I took the dash off from my 105, as it was smashed. I have put it back together, and it wont start now. I didnt hook up any of the wires that run the lights, I hooked the wires up from the ignition , the selenoid,and the amp meter,and the safty switch, I have nothing ? do the light have to be wired to complete it? if I unhook the saftey switch underneath will that just bypass it ? Thanks

Double check your ground wire.

The neutral safety switch plug would need to be "jumpered" to allow current to flow.

I have been following the electrical system section for the 105 from the service manual, everything seems to be correct ? what I have done is take the dash and pedestal off and painted them, and am reinstalling , I was thinking that the selanoid grounds through the studs, and I panted them , so it isnt able to ground ???? but I ran a jumper to ground the selanoid(maybe not enough), it has to be a ground prbolem ! it acts dead, does absolutly nothing not even a click ! it did run before, that why It has me stumped, as I didnt change anything , just added paint, and I have not hooked any of the wires for the lights either ! but, I have power at the green wire on ignition switch ? so to bypass the safty switch do i need to wire nut the 2 together ? thank, this will be my last resort as it worked before!,Thanks.

You should scrape paint off to get metal on metal contact. The bolt alone won't do it.

Most tractors that have the N/S switch bypassed just have a heavy "U" shaped piece of wire stuck into the plastic receptacle that would normally plug onto the switch, that way nothing is damaged or ruined (just in case you or the next owner wanted to put the switch back in service).

The headlights should have nothing to do with starting and running the machine.

im gonna scrape the paint off and see if that does it, if not then I will try and mess with the saftey switch. if i have time ,gonna go pick up another tractor so have to empty the trailer out ! Thanks

I'm sorry, yes, the solenoid must be grounded. If your dash tower has fresh paint you may need to clean a little of it off from the mounting studs.

tried everything, finally worked , when I bipassed the satey switch ! didnt have a problem with it 2 weeks ago ?
