124 cub?
 

I'm pretty new to the cub game. I bought an 1810 and loved it. Then blew it up. I have been on the lookout for a parts tractor, I found this 124. Will my 46" deck work on it? Any advice on the 124? For $300 it seems like a bargain. Runs fine he says.:bigthink::bigthink:

The correct mower deck would be the Quick Attach 38", 42" or 48" mower decks.

Looks like it was taken care of. I have the 104 repowered with k301 and it is a little beast! I love it and would definately buy another for 300 especially with ag tires!

I'm torn here. My 1810 is perfect except the blown rod if that makes sense! But this is an interesting little tractor. I bought a zero turn for mowing. Would this do well moving trailers and hauling miscellaneous?

Yes. Excellent for odd jobs.

For towing trailers and carts, the 124 will do just as well as your 1810. If you haven't physically looked at the 124, be aware the steering and clutch will most likely need work. This is more due to neglect and 40+ years of wear, not inferior design.

As far as the 1810, there are a few options that should make finding a replacement easier. You can repower with a vanguard or magnum or ch kohler out of a cub. I know of at least one member here that even has a k series kohler in a 10/11 series tractor.

The right answer is to buy the 124 and find a new engine for the 1810 and keep them both. :biggrin2:

That's a nice 124. I bought mine from the original owners next door neighbor, with a no 2 cart and ez vac panels. I use it to mow an acre yard, no problems except spindle froze up in the axle. I wash it down after each time I mow, keep blades sharp, bearings greased, deck coated with Teflon spray. That's a good deal for $300

Nice 124, I have a 125, same tractor but in a hydro. Nice little beast they are.
